Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect what we need to test your soil and send you the results, and nothing else. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site, we never see or store your card number, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

What we collect

Account and order details. Your name, email address, phone number and shipping address. We need these to send you a kit, to get the results back to you, and to let you sign in.

Information about what you grow. The name you give each site, its size, whether it is lawn or garden, the grass or crop you are growing, and any manure history you tell us about. These are inputs to the suggestions. A set of soil numbers means something different under tomatoes than under fescue.

Your soil results. The measurements the laboratory returns for each sample you send in, and the suggestions we calculate from them.

Photos, if you add them. You can attach a photo to a site. This is optional, the photo is stored with your account, and it is not used for anything other than showing it back to you.

What we do not collect

Your card details.Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number is entered directly into Stripe's form and never reaches our servers. We keep only Stripe's reference for the payment so we can match it to your order and refund it if you ask.

Advertising and analytics data. This site runs no third-party analytics, advertising pixels or cross-site trackers.

Who else sees your information

We share the minimum necessary with a small number of providers who do specific jobs for us, and with nobody else:

• Brookside Laboratories. The laboratory that analyses your soil. They receive the sample and the identifiers needed to match it back to your order.
• Stripe. Processes payments and holds the card details we never see.
• EasyPost and the carrier. Receive your shipping address in order to produce a shipping label and tracking for your kit.
• Postmark. Sends transactional email such as order confirmations and password resets.
• DigitalOcean. Hosts the site and the database it stores your account in.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Cookies

We set one cookie. It records that you are signed in, so that the dashboard can show you your own results and not somebody else's. It is not used for tracking or advertising, and clearing it simply signs you out.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, your orders and your soil results for as long as your account is open, because the value of soil testing is largely in the comparison. This year against last year. If you would like your account and its data deleted, email us and we will do it.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@getsoilrx.com and tell us which.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
